7 Tips for Car Air Conditioning Care

Why Air Conditioning is very important In scorching hot weather with temperatures soaring up to 40 degrees Celsius, one thing that becomes incredibly important is the car’s air conditioning system. If your car’s AC is malfunctioning or not cooling in such extreme weather conditions, it can be quite uncomfortable. Opening the car windows may not be a good alternative because it not only lets in the intense heat but also exposes you to unwanted odors and the health risks of PM 2.5 dust particles. Today, G.P.Auto Parts brings you tips on how to maintain your car’s air conditioning system. 7 Tips for Car Air Conditioning Care Before starting the engine, it’s advisable to turn off the AC every time. This prevents the compressor from immediately engaging. Let the engine warm up a bit before turning on the AC. If you start your car in the morning, it’s a good idea to turn on the fan without activating the A/C button. This helps expel moisture from the AC system, and you can later turn on the A/C to reduce any musty odors and extend the lifespan of the AC unit. Avoid setting the temperature too low as it can put excessive strain on the compressor. Adjust the temperature to a comfortable level. If your parked car has been in the sun for an extended period, it’s a good practice to open the windows and let the hot air escape before turning on the AC. This helps cool down the car faster. Avoid frequent window openings as it can let external dust and particles into the car’s AC system. When approaching your destination, consider turning off the A/C before reaching there and just use the fan. There will still be some cool air left in the system, and this practice reduces the workload on the compressor and helps expel any remaining moisture. If your A/C is not cooling effectively or not at all, it’s advisable to have a qualified technician check for refrigerant leaks. A malfunctioning A/C can lead to a refrigerant leak, and prompt repairs are essential. Maintenance: Inspect the AC system every 3 months or every 5,000 kilometers. Ensure proper refrigerant levels and top up as needed. Check and clean the AC filter to remove dust buildup. Inspect the A/C belt for wear and tear. Clean the AC unit every 2 years. reference : http://www.powerplus-jumpstart.com/ ___________________________________ Place an order/Become a distributor. 7 Ways to Take Care of Your Car After Heavy Use

Caring for the Car After Returning from a Trip After using your car for a full trip, it’s important not to overlook post-travel maintenance. This helps extend the lifespan of your vehicle and enhances safety while driving. Today, G.P. Auto Parts brings you ‘7 Ways to Care for Your Car After a Long Journey Exterior Inspection: Check for any scratches or unusual marks on the body or paint of your car, such as bird droppings, stone chips, or mud. If found, promptly wash and clean them, possibly using a cleaning solution to avoid potential damage to the paint. Reinspect, and if the marks persist, address them promptly. Interior Clean-up: After a long trip, it’s common to have food crumbs or spills inside the car. Clean up any food debris or crumbs that may have fallen inside to prevent odors and potential bacterial growth. Remove floor mats, vacuum, and consider using a car-care kit. Brake System: After long journeys, check your brake pads. Listen for abnormal noises when braking or vibrations at high speeds, as these may indicate worn brake pads. If noticed, promptly have a qualified mechanic inspect and address the issue. Fluids Check: Long trips and prolonged acceleration can cause increased wear on your car’s engine, transmission, and braking system. Therefore, check all fluids such as engine oil, brake fluid, and transmission fluid to ensure they are at the proper levels and not contaminated. Lighting System: Inspect all exterior lights, including turn signals, headlights, and taillights, to ensure they are functioning correctly. Also, check for any warning symbols on the dashboard. If any issues are detected, refer to the owner’s manual or promptly seek repairs. Air Filter System: Long journeys may expose your car’s air filter to dust and debris. Consider removing and cleaning the air filter to prolong the engine’s lifespan and improve performance. Tire Inspection: Different road conditions encountered during long trips can lead to tire wear and damage, such as punctures or cuts from nails or debris. Therefore, inspect each tire thoroughly for any signs of wear or damage. Additionally, check tire pressure to ensure they are at the recommended levels. If any issues are detected, address them promptly. Thank you for the valuable information from : www.tqm.co.th ___________________________________ Place an order/Become a distributor. Check blind spots, which require special attention

What should you be cautious about? A-Pillar Blind Spot The A-pillar, which frames the windshield, can obstruct your view while driving, particularly when making turns or U-turns. This can make it difficult to see other vehicles. Solution: Adjust your seat so it’s not too high, leaving about 6 inches between your head and the car’s ceiling. Tilt or move your head to see around the A-pillar before turning or making a U-turn. Side Mirror Blind Spots Watch out for vehicles that might come up alongside you, outside the range of your adjusted side mirrors. Solution: Adjust the side mirrors to get the widest view possible, ensuring you can see the side of your car, the road surface, and lane markers, without setting the mirrors too high. Rearview Mirror Blind Spot Avoid placing items on the rear deck that can obstruct your view through the rear window. Solution: Make sure the rearview mirror is adjusted to provide a clear view of the entire rear window. Be cautious when overtaking, changing lanes, or reversing to ensure you can see the situation behind your car. Following Larger Vehicles Following larger vehicles like trucks can greatly reduce your visibility of the road ahead. Solution: Maintain a safe distance that allows you to see oncoming traffic and road conditions. Never overtake on the left side of a large vehicle, as they have a blind spot on that side and may not see you, increasing the risk of an accident. Blind Spots Due to Road Conditions Curves: Never overtake on a curve. Slow down and adhere strictly to warning signs. Hills: Avoid speeding on inclines as you cannot see the road ahead. Use your horn to signal your presence to oncoming vehicles. At night, use your high beams to enhance visibility. 5 Ways to Handle an Overheating Engine

5 Ways to Deal with Engine Overheat 1. When you notice that the car is starting to overheat, pull over to the side of the road, turn off the air conditioning, and wait for the heat to decrease before turning off the engine. Caution: Do not turn off the engine immediately because while the engine is hot, various metals will expand. If the engine is turned off abruptly, some metals may contract, causing valves or pistons to become stuck, or the engine to fail. 2. However, if the engine is parked, turn off the air conditioning, and after about 10 minutes, if the engine has not cooled down, it indicates a problem with the radiator or valves. Turn off the engine immediately. 3. Open the radiator cap by placing a thick wet cloth on it, pressing it down on the cloth-covered part of the radiator cap with your hand. Gradually release the radiator cap until the steam pressure dissipates completely. Then carefully remove it and check the water inside the radiator. Caution: Do not open the radiator cap while the engine is extremely hot. Do not pour water onto the engine as it may cause damage to the engine. 4. Slowly refill the radiator with water, little by little, allowing the fresh water to mix with the existing water in the system to dissipate the heat. Stay calm and add water slowly, waiting for about 30 – 60 seconds between each addition. Repeat this process until the radiator is full. Caution: The water should be at room temperature, neither too hot nor too cold. Distilled water is best, but if unavailable, regular drinking water can be used. However, mineral water or tap water should be avoided as it may cause rusting in the engine. 5. Once the water has been refilled, do not start the engine immediately. Wait for about 10 minutes before starting the engine. Caution: Do not start the engine and accelerate immediately. The engine may stall again. The above solutions are temporary fixes. If the engine continues to produce steam or begins to overheat again while driving, it indicates a leak in the radiator or a malfunctioning valve. Take it to a professional mechanic for repair immediately Preventing Engine Overheating Overheating, or when the engine becomes excessively hot due to the inability of the car’s cooling system to dissipate heat, it is recommended to prevent overheating by: – Before driving, check the coolant level and inspect various systems inside the engine. – While driving, observe the temperature gauge on the dashboard, which should normally be between C and H (85-90 degrees Celsius). If the needle moves to H, indicating overheating, park the car immediately and open the hood. – Only use coolant to refill the radiator in the car. Using plain water lowers the boiling point compared to coolant, causing it to boil faster when it encounters the heat of the engine, impacting the cooling system’s efficiency. Coolant primarily consists of ethylene glycol, which has a higher boiling point than plain water, making it more resistant to heat from the engine. I recommend using ACDelco dex-Cool premium-grade coolant to ensure quality and efficient heat dissipation. It helps reduce damage to metal components that come into contact with coolant, allowing the engine to operate efficiently at all times ___________________________________ Place an order/Become a distributor. How to pay off your car loan faster than before, a method your finance company never told you about.

Those currently financing a car can’t afford to miss this! How to pay off your car loan faster, a trick that finance companies never tell you since you bought the car. Most of your monthly installments mainly go to interest. When you calculate it, you’ll see that you end up paying more than the car’s price. But don’t worry, I’ve got a tip to help you out. How to pay off your car faster. 1. Bi-weekly Payments: Making car payments every two weeks instead of monthly can effectively double the number of payments per year from 12 to 24. Each payment would cover both principal and interest in the same amount as before. This reduces the principal faster and lowers the interest rate every two weeks. However, it’s crucial to check with the finance company first, as some may not adjust the interest rate with bi-weekly payments since interest is usually averaged monthly. 2. Pay Extra Whenever Possible: If your finance company allows it and reduces the interest each time, consider paying more than the regular installment. For instance, if your regular payment is $10,000 per month and you have extra funds one month due to a bonus or commission, paying $15,000 or $20,000 will shorten the repayment period, decrease the principal, and reduce the interest. 3. Avoid Missing Payments: Late fees and penalties contribute to additional expenses and prolong the loan term. Timely payments are crucial to maintaining a good credit score and avoiding extra charges. 4. Refinance at Lower Rates: Refinancing your car loan becomes worthwhile when you can secure a lower interest rate than your original loan. It’s advantageous when refinancing decreases the interest rate, even if it doesn’t reduce the principal. Lowering the interest rate means you pay less over time. 5. Negotiate with Your Current Lender: Negotiating with your existing lender for a lower interest rate or even extending the loan term while maintaining or increasing monthly payments can help pay off the car faster. By increasing the monthly installment, you reduce the principal amount and the interest charged over time. Following these steps can help pay off your car loan faster, even if your finance company hasn’t recommended them since they can lead to significant savings and an earlier payoff. Additionally, regular vehicle maintenance is essential to avoid unexpected repair costs and keep the car in good condition, saving you money and time in the long run. Understanding and Dealing with the Silent Danger of PM 2.5

PM 2.5 refers to fine particulate matter, where “PM” stands for “Particulate Matter” or dust particles. The number 2.5 refers to the size of the particulate matter, which measures no more than 2.5 microns in diameter. To put this in perspective, 2.5 microns is about 1/25th the width of a human hair. This tiny size makes PM 2.5 particles so small that the nose hair, which acts as a filter, cannot block them. Because of their small size, PM 2.5 particles float in the air along with water vapor, smoke, and gases. This allows them to easily enter the respiratory system, bloodstream, and other organs in the body. Additionally, they can carry harmful substances on their surfaces, such as mercury, heavy metals, and carcinogens. These substances can cause significant harm to the body. Causes of PM 2.5 Pollution Wildfires, waste burning, and open-field agricultural burning, such as burning sugarcane fields and weeds. Smoke from industrial processes and dust from construction activities. Emissions from transportation and vehicles, including exhaust fumes and incomplete combustion in engines. Power generation, such as burning petroleum and coal. Everyday human activities, such as smoking, burning incense and candles, paper burning, and using photocopiers.           According to the Department of Pollution Control, it is stated that over 60% of the hazardous PM2.5 originates from diesel engines that burn incomplete fuel, resulting in black smoke and particulate matter.          Additionally, around 35% comes from open burning of waste and construction activities. Warning Signs That PM 2.5 Is Affecting You! If you think PM2.5 isn’t dangerous and is just another type of dust, think again. Due to its incredibly small size, PM2.5 can easily enter your body and severely impact your health. In extreme cases, exposure to this toxic dust can even be fatal. Let’s look at some symptoms indicating that you might be affected by this harmful dust. 1. Red eyes, swollen eyelids, dark under-eye circles, and frequent tearing. 2. Skin eruptions such as bumps or rashes that are red and spread across the skin. 3. Itchy, burning, or congested nasal passages, accompanied by clear nasal discharge. 4. Coughing, sneezing, and a feeling of tightness in the chest. 5. Fever or feeling unusually warm. In the initial stages of exposure to PM2.5, you might not notice significant effects. However, prolonged and continuous exposure to these fine particles can lead to serious long-term health impacts, both internally and externally. Slow brain development, attention deficit Allergies and asthma: Individuals already allergic to dust will experience aggravated symptoms Potential development of severe diseases such as lung cancer, ischemic heart disease, and pneumonia Burning pain on the skin; severe cases may cause hives on the face, joints, and groin Damage to skin cells, leading to weak, easily wrinkled skin Prolonged exposure to PM2.5 during pregnancy can negatively impact the fetus How to Live Away from PM 2.5 We cannot predict when the issue of fine particulate matter like PM2.5 will be resolved. The control measures seem too overwhelming for ordinary citizens. Therefore, what we can do is take care of ourselves, protect ourselves, and avoid behaviors that contribute to the generation of PM2.5. 1. Close doors and windows to prevent dust from entering your home. 2. Avoid exercising or doing heavy work outdoors, especially for patients or those with weak health; they should stay indoors unless absolutely necessary. 3. Drink plenty of clean water to help flush out impurities from your body. 4. Quit smoking; this not only reduces pollution but also strengthens your body. 5. Refrain from burning trash, especially toxic waste like plastic and tires. 6. Maintain your vehicle regularly to prevent pollution, such as changing the engine oil. 7. Replace your car’s air filter to ensure it can filter out dust and pollutants from entering the cabin. 8. Always wear a protective mask when you go outside. However, since PM2.5 particles are very small, regular paper masks are not effective. It is necessary to use thicker masks (N95). Summary PM2.5 is a type of particulate matter that has severe health impacts and tends to occur annually. Currently, Thailand cannot completely eliminate these pollutants. Therefore, we must protect ourselves and avoid behaviors that contribute to pollution. Most importantly, always wear a mask capable of filtering PM2.5 when leaving the house. This not only protects you from harmful dust but also reduces the risk of contracting various infections.
